Meet Our Personal Trainer

Adam Augenstein

My journey in health and fitness began at the age of 12, a pivotal time when I started training alongside my mom, using Billy Blanks videos and later, Beachbody programs like P90X and Insanity. I was an obese child, weighing a hefty 290lbs at just 11 years old and standing 5’10”. Ironically, being the largest kid in school had its benefits as I was spared from bullying.

My transformation started when I lost 20lbs in under a month, sparking a deep obsession with fitness. Within six months, I shed over 90lbs, reaching a low of 160lbs by the time I hit my current height of 6’. However, I realized I wanted to build back size, but this time in muscle. This led me to delve into weightlifting and further my knowledge about training.

In 2006, I earned my first personal training certification, igniting my passion not only for my own training but also for helping others achieve their fitness goals.

Fast forward to today, I have spent 18 years dedicated to helping others attain their dream bodies. I hold multiple certifications through NASM and have completed a degree in exercise physiology from Adelphi University. I am also certified from Special Strong which focuses on training students with special needs. Growing up, I required special education due to being diagnosed with ADHD. However, the combination of nutrition and exercise really made a huge difference for me in the classroom. At the end of tenth grade, I no longer required special education due to the changes in my health.

What sets my work apart is my deep commitment to inclusivity, particularly in working with students with special needs. I firmly believe in providing a supportive environment where everyone, regardless of ability, can thrive. That’s why I continuously seek to expand my expertise, staying abreast of the latest research in health and fitness and pursuing new certifications along the way.

I am passionate about ensuring you receive the best service and achieve the most out of our time together. Let’s work together to reach your fitness goals, no matter what challenges you may face.

I recently attended Adam’s personal training sessions and I have to say they were great! Adam is very knowledgeable and professional, and he was able to tailor the workouts to my individual goals and needs. The sessions were challenging but also fun and rewarding. I would definitely recommend Adam’s personal training sessions to anyone looking to get in shape and reach their fitness goals.

Training with Adam has brought my workouts and body mechanics knowledge to a new level. I’ve been working out for many years and consider myself a veteran lifter but I always look for little “tweaks” to my form and routine to keep things fresh and challenging. Even after our first session, I was able to learn, adapt and implement new approaches to my leg routine that have resulted in growth, strength and sustained enthusiasm as I have four different leg routines to choose from now (depending where I’m feeling on that particular day). Adam has been able to help me modify different exercises and combinations of exercises to compensate for a myriad of injuries and internal hardware this old hockey player has. His easy going nature and willingness to share his knowledge in a fun and respectful manner will be appreciated by veteran and novice lifters/athletes/fitness enthusiasts and reforming couch potatoes alike. I highly recommend Adam for whatever level of fitness you may find yourself as he will unlock all of your potential while fanning the flames of consistency. That last word, consistency, is what makes us successful in seeing our goals materialize. Thanks Adam !!
